Ingredients
  

  • For the Steak
  • 2 sirloin or ribeye steaks 6-8oz each
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • For the Creamy Mushroom Sauce
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 cup mushrooms sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)
  • For the Asparagus
  • 1 bunch asparagus ends trimmed
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Steak
  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Rub both sides of the steaks with olive oil, kosher salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Sear the steaks in the skillet for 3-4 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness (medium-rare to medium is recommended for this recipe).
  • Remove from heat and let the steaks rest for at least 5 minutes to retain their juices.
  • Make the Mushroom Sauce
  • In the same skillet, add olive oil and unsalted butter.
  • Once the butter has melted, sauté the sliced mushrooms for about 5 minutes until they become tender.
  • Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Stir in heavy cream, Dijon mustard, soy sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  • Let the sauce simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens to a creamy consistency.
  • Cook the Asparagus
  • Toss the asparagus with olive oil, salt, and black pepper.
  • Grill or pan-roast the asparagus for about 5 minutes, until tender yet crisp.
  • Serve & Enjoy
  • Plate the steaks, spoon the creamy mushroom sauce generously over the top, and serve with asparagus on the side.
  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
